COMPETITION GUIDELINES

Theme:

My Scottish Christmas

Each year, Edinburgh Park hosts a creative competition open to all.

Previous themes have included sculpture design and photography - we think this year is the best competition yet!

We're inviting participants to create an original Christmas card design inspired by the theme "My Scottish Christmas".

We are looking for artwork that captures the spirit of Christmas in Scotland, whether through winter landscapes, local traditions, festive celebrations, community spirit, or your own creative interpretation of the season.

The winning design will become Edinburgh Park's official 2026 Christmas card and will be used to raise funds for charity through card sales across the estate and beyond.

Competition Brief:

Submit an original piece of artwork in any medium, including drawing, painting, illustration, photography, or mixed media. Designs may feature: Scottish winter scenes Festive traditions and celebrations Edinburgh landmarks or landscapes Seasonal wildlife and nature Creative interpretations of a Scottish Christmas All entries must be submitted as a high-resolution image suitable for print production. Prizes:

- Design published and featured as Edinburgh Park's official Christmas card

- Christmas card proceeds to their chosen charity *in line with Edinburgh Park Management Limited's charity and fundraising policy.

- £50 Patina voucher

Key Dates:

Competition opens: 1st October 2026

Competition closes: 31st October 2026

Winner announced: Week commencing 2nd November 2026

Judging Criteria:

Entries will be assessed against the following criteria:

- Creativity (40%)

- Relevance to the theme (30%)

- Quality of work (30%)

Charity Fundraising:

The winning design will be professionally produced and sold to support a charity chosen by the winner, subject to approval in line with Edinburgh Park Management Limited's charity and fundraising policy.

Cards will be available while stocks last in the following formats:

- Single card

- Pack of 5

- Pack of 10

- Pack of 20

Suggested donation amounts:

- Single card: £2

- Pack of 5: £8

- Pack of 10: £15

- Pack of 20: £30

Cards will be promoted and distributed across Edinburgh Park, with promotional materials featuring a QR code linking directly to the chosen charity's JustGiving page.

Should demand exceed available stock, additional print runs may be commissioned.

By entering the competition, participants agree that: The submitted artwork is their own original work Edinburgh Park may reproduce and use submitted artwork for competition and promotional purposes The winning design may be adapted to meet printing and production requirements No cash alternative will be offered for prizes The judges' decision is final Late entries may not be considered Edinburgh Park Management limited reserves the right to refuse the chosen charity of the winner should the charity not align with EPML’s charity guidelines
