Patina Bakery Crowned Scotland’s Best Croissant 2026

Patina Bakery Crowned Scotland’s Best Croissant 2026

Edinburgh Park’s bakery Patina has taken first place at Scotland’s Best Croissant competition 2026, beating 16 other bakeries from across Scotland to claim the top prize.

Patina impressed a panel of industry experts at the competition, held at The Balmoral hotel in Edinburgh.

The team was awarded a specially commissioned trophy crafted by O&Co Blacksmiths in recognition of their winning entry.

The competition challenged bakeries to present six plain croissants, which were judged on appearance, colour, shape, uniformity, lamination, texture and flavour.

The victory marks a significant achievement for Patina, which has steadily climbed the rankings after finishing third in a previous competition and second last year.

Assistant Head Baker Clothilde Vadin praised head baker Linda for helping the team achieve the win, saying her leadership and commitment to excellence had driven Patina’s progression.

Glasgow bakeries Maple Leaf Bakery and Kaf also earned recognition, receiving specially commissioned tokens for their placements.

Patina enjoyed further success by coming in third place in a new category introduced this year, designed to reduce food waste by challenging bakeries to create a bake using leftover pastry off-cuts.

Organised by The Edinburgh Butter Company, the competition brought together talented bakers from across Scotland to celebrate craftsmanship, creativity and innovation in pastry making.

With Patina’s first-place finish and an additional podium result, the 2026 competition marks a standout moment for Edinburgh Park’s bakery and its team.
