As we close out 2025, we’re pleased to share a round-up of another active and collaborative year at Edinburgh Park.
We kicked off in March with the publication of our 3rd Polaris Zine: Planting Amaryllis, exploring the mythology behind the amaryllis flower and Louise Plant’s Amarylla Guerilla sculpture. A well-attended Saturday launch event featured live poetry readings and complimentary zines and seed packets for guests.
In May, we hosted our second Spring Market in the civic square — expanded to two days this year — and were delighted by the strong support from both Edinburgh Park tenants and the wider community.
Easter brought a bit of fun, with a colouring competition inspired by two of Edinburgh Park’s landmark sculptures — Vulcan by Sir Eduardo Paolozzi and Amarylla Guerilla by Louise Plant. We also held a charity raffle for the tenants of 1 New Park Square.
June was a special month. We worked with Gylemuir Primary School and our poet in residence, Janette Ayachi, for a two-day creative project exploring the park’s sculptures. The students’ thoughtful and imaginative work became the foundation of our 4th Polaris Zine: Fantastic Ekphrastic.
Also in June, we hosted a padel and pickleball open day, players and families were welcomed and provided with complimentary coaching and an introduction to both sports.
Throughout the summer, in collaboration with the wider Edinburgh Park management team, we delivered two street food markets, and we concluded the year with a festive wreath-making workshop led by Ochre Botanical Studios.
Looking ahead, we are progressing the development of a new children’s play area beside the civic square. When it opens in 2026, we will also launch a complimentary children’s art and activity book, supported by Parabola.
Thank you to everyone who supported our activities throughout 2025. We look forward to an equally engaging year ahead at Edinburgh Park.
